Print Media To Weigh On News Corp’s Earnings
News Corp (NASDAQ:NWSA) is scheduled to announce its fiscal third quarter earnings on Thursday, May 5. The company’s total revenues in the December quarter fell by 4% year-on-year (y-o-y) to $2.16 billion amidst a challenging environment for print media. News Corp expects the March quarter to remain challenging for the news and information segment as it battles changing consumer preferences. However, digital advertising and digital real estate revenues may prove to be a bright spot for the company, helped by its acquisitions of Unruly Holdings and Move Inc., respectively.
In terms of the bottom line, we expect the company to continue focusing on fiscal discipline and maintain strict control over its operating expenses to grow its margins.
