How Is TripAdvisor’s Top Line Trending?
TripAdvisor is currently growing its Instant Booking platform which is the main driver for its hotel segment, and it is aggressively investing in its non-hotel business as well. The Instant Booking platform now includes eight of the top ten global hotel brands along with the OTA giant, Priceline. Its non-hotel segment is also growing significantly. A recent report suggests that the non-hotel business, including attractions, restaurant reservations, and vacation rentals, might grow by 118% between 2015 to 2018 to amount to a $500 million business. Though TripAdvisor is currently witnessing a setback in its performance on account of investments and acquisitions, we expect TripAdvisor to be poised for long-term growth with the company undertaking initiatives towards that end. Currently, the TripAdvisor platform includes over 385 million reviews for 6.6 million businesses, and the platform enjoys 350 million average monthly unique visitors.
