How Was L Brands’ Monthly Performance In June 2016?
L Brands recently released its monthly performance report for June 2016. The comparable store sales for the company was up by 6% Y-o-Y which was significantly boosted by the timing shifts of Memorial Day and July 4th holidays. However, the merchandise margin rate continued with the weak trend on account of the clearance sales at Victoria’s Secret due to the company’s restructurings of the Victoria’s Secret core segment. Though Bath & Body Works experienced an increase in Y-o-Y merchandise margin rate, yet the margin was partially dampened due to weak Canadian exchange rates against the US dollars.
