NASDAQ’s listing requirements are generally less stringent compared to NYSE, allowing smaller companies to list on its platform more easily. Thus, we see a large number of growth- and technology-based companies listed with NASDAQ, while NYSE sees more well-established, stable companies listed on its trading platform. The higher volatility of tech stocks (and smaller, growth companies) causes the risk perception of NASDAQ to be somewhat higher than that of NYSE.
